1. Privacy-by-Design for Minors
Given that participants are predominantly minors in Grades 6–12, personal information is collected solely for the purposes of summit administration, security accreditation at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), parental verification, and emergency preparedness. No individual child's personal data or contact details will ever be published publicly, sold, or shared with commercial third parties.
2. Information Collected
We collect participant name, date of birth, grade/class, school name, city, country, emergency contact, and parent/guardian contact. For Young Speakers and Innovators, project briefs and submitted abstracts are collected for evaluation by the academic selection committee.
3. Storage and Access Controls
All registration information is stored in encrypted databases with strict role-based administrative access controls. Uploaded project documents are stored in non-public directories protected from direct web traversal.
4. Rights of Access, Rectification and Erasure
Parents and legal guardians hold the continuous right to review, update, or request the erasure of their child's registration data at any point prior to or after the summit by contacting application@unsdc.org with their Application Reference Number.
